High Calorie Melt Workout

THIS is the cure for what ails you during the holiday binge season: mitch's high calorie melt workout. they guarantee that it will crank up your metabolism. i can definitely vouch for the fact that it kicks everything into high gear, so be ready for an intense workout. it's a full hour long workout, so block out some time for it and then let those calories melt away! oh! bonus - when you stimulate your metabolism like that, it increases your burn rate even after you've settled into the couch again!

Sculpting the 6-Pack

how are you doing with your muscle tone? Mitch's exercise techniques really can help you achieve those sculpted, gorgeous, rock hard abs - Joe's 6-pack, if you will - the G-Ball really kicks the whole workout into high gear. i love how it is sculpting my abs - both upper and lower abs, and even the sides, all in one core workout.

3 Day Melt

so today is what, the 11th. i'm wondering if i should kick the workout into high gear in anticipation of holiday nibbling. 2 more weeks of increasing temptation with sweets trays and holiday potlucks and the like. burn off a few extra calories now in hopes of staving off the inevitable couple of stocking stuffer pounds that accompany this time of year. the 3 day melt might just do the trick.

Got Guts?

it is true that mitch's 3-day melt program burns massive amounts of calories and really kicks your butt. that's a great thing. that's the whole point. but the thing that keeps me going back to it has got to be the underlying message about doing something for myself. SO IMPORTANT! here's one of the "keys to success" you find in the booklet that comes when you first sign on: COURAGE. that's the one i'm focusing on right now. having nerve and daring in the face of fear. which is usually not life threatening, but pride or image threatening. which is more crippling, i think. so, go forth with courage!!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

well, friends... how did you fare over the holiday?? did you go back for seconds or thirds on the stuffing like i did?

Holiday Overindulgence

have you upped your workout regime in prep for holiday overindulgence? or are you just thinking you'll be strong and NOT overindulge??? i know i'll have seconds when i don't need them. at least thanksgiving is really just one day (or two) of overdoing it. and really the foods aren't necessarily even bad for you... unless you eat gravy the way i eat gravy. :) it's just hard not to keep going back for more. december is the real killer for me, with all the holiday parties and whatnot that lasts for weeks. it's hard to be good for so long, day after day.

Burn Up to 1000 Calories

the effectiveness of the 3-day melt program is really something. when sequenced together in the order they recommend, the exercises create a workout that burns up to 1000 calories. whoa!! that's half the days calories. or more, or lots of us ladies. i can see how folks can lose so much so fast. that's the smart way to exercise, if you ask me.

Define Your Purpose

have you used the journal that came with mitch's 3 Day Melt program? i don't know what i was expecting, exactly, but i have found it to be quite meaningful in its approach. you know? the book asks us to define our purpose for beginning the program. i would have to say that for myself, it was to start doing something healthy for myself that would improve my cardiovascular health in addition to building and toning muscle. i'm not out for a gymnast's body, but i want more tone and definition on my arms and legs and a tighter tummy. oh, and the buns, too, let's not forget those. and mitch delivers.

Small Changes

let's focus on this one of mitch's aphorisms today. it's one of my favorites: "even small changes in my life are big achievements." exercise, diet, interpersonal relationships. whatever. it works and it feels good. thanks, mitch!

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

so i find myself usually wanting a coffee or tea sometime after lunch, early or later in the afternoon. i usually indulge this feeling. but today, a rare afternoon at home, i did the 10 minute Melt It Off workout instead. wow!! better than coffee. and i can't believe i'm saying that, really. i'm drinking an emergen-C post-workout instead. i highly recommend this kind of pick-me-up.

Ticket To a Great Day

yes, that's the ticket to a great day - start with some exercise, then a healthy breakfast, a la the Melt it Off menu... and then you're off and running with a bounty of energy to propell you thru the day no matter what comes your way.

Doing Something for Me

you know, the whole day just goes better when I make time for ME and exercise first thing. mitch gets it right when he talks about doing the melt it off program - or whatever you choose - being SO important - that we're doing something for ourselves which is paramount - because then we can take it into the rest of our days and lives iwth greater energy and purpose.

Morning Workout

i just didn't make time for the workout today, and now i can't wait till morning to get my muscles moving and my heart rate accelerated. i think i'll do fortius again for sure. it's just been one of those exhausting days with way too many obligations and not enough hours in the day. every time i look at the clock, its an hour later. to bed. can't wait for the morning workout with mitch!

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Fortius = Favorite

fortius - the accelerated sculpt and firm - strength workout is my favorite. the citius workout still just kills me!! fortius is a fantastic workout, that you can modify to the silver or bronze level as you're working up to gold. i really like how it focuses on each area one chunk at a time. legs. arms etc. some of those lunges where you're handing the ball through yoru legs and around your torso are TRICKY!! :)

Lance Armstrong off again on again

ok, maybe off topic, but what do you think of lance armstrong coming back??? whats with all these pro athletes who retire, only to come back soon after?? seems kind of lame to me... a little like 'ooh, look at me..." ... "ooh, look at me... again!!"

Sore Abs = Tight Abs

so that ab intensive workout i mentioned last wednesday... i still had sore ab muscles all the way through sunday. that's proof to me that it's working HARD. and not just in one isolated place, but the whole front of my torso, basically. excellent workout.

Ab Killer

wow. mitch's workouts are intense. the Rapid Results Ab Workout kicks ass. way more challenging than some other workouts i've tried.

Burn 20% More Calories

so i was reading some of the melt it off with mitch literature and saw that it says that your body burns 20% more calories than normal in the 4 hours after you exercise. wow. i dont' remember ever hearing htat before. super cool. its like a matching donation program. love it.

Melt It Off Without Heat

heat wave has abated, thank gd. 'im such a woos about being really active when it's hot. just makes me melt. how do you really spell wuss anyway? oh, really? wuss: A person regarded as weak or timid and especially as unmanly
Mike Damone: You are a wuss: part wimp, and part pussy
["Fast Times at Ridgemont High" script, 1982] that's hilarious.

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Hot, Hot, Hot!

oosh. still hot. getting hotter. "unseasonably high temperatures" i believe were the words the weather guy used. i'm not so much a fan of working out in an oven. that' swhy i never did bikram yoga. you?

Monday, June 30, 2008

Melt It off Summer-Style

lemme tell you. now that summer's here, melt it off takes on a whole new meaning, doing the workout in high temperatures. lets hope the heat accelerates the melt!

Mitch Means Business

could there BE a tougher workout? i mean, a more intense aerobic program than that hour long number? sheesh, i don't hink so. serious biz.

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Agave vs. Honey

from a "melt it off" standpoint, do you know if honey or agave nectar is better? calories, nutritional value, etc., i mean. i just watched bee movie and started craving honey and then i got to thinkin...

Early Tickets

The Iron Cross Alone Could Melt It Off

the iron cross is hard! major arm workout. i feel finger-ly challenged, though, hanging on to the ball. i still go slower than they do, afraid i'm going to lose it! but really what a great basic exercise that works your arms intensely, and everything else, too.

melting... with fever

man, i've been sick for a week and just cant do the cardio yet. i know mitch isn't going to melt it off for me ulness i get back to it. will do... soon.

Kick Start the Day the Perfect 10 Way

i can't quite believe what a difference it makes to do 10 minutes of exercise in the morning. totally kicks my body into a more productive gear for the whole day. really cool. it's a challenge getting after it, but once i'm in motion, it feels better and better.

Melt It off With Goji Berries

not that goji berries have any weight loss benefits. i don't htink they do. but theyre good for you in other ways for sure. funny thing. i have this weedy vine growing out from under my shed in teh backyard and i sent it in for identification and they said it was matrimony vine. you know what that is? goji berries!!!! also called wolfberry. health benefits include improved circulation, immune and liver funciton, etc. and all those antioxidants. so even if it doesn't help you lose weight directly, it contributes to good health which is part and parcel of the melt it off with mitch game plan.

Sunday, April 20, 2008

Goji Berries Rule

alright, so i've opted for this great granola with goji berries in it. yummy!!

Monday, April 14, 2008

Mitch in the Morning

i'm wondering what a good nondairy alternative would be to the cottage cheese in the women's meal plan. it appears now and again and i do'nt really eat dairy. any ideas out there? maybe a low fat high protein granola with unsweetened almond milk? i think hemp granola has lots of protein. i'll have to do some label comparing. what do you think mitch gaylord eats for breakfast?

Melt It Off With Mitch

citius is the name of the second workout in 3 Day Melt - Melt It Off with Mitch program. citius means swifter. citius, altius, fortius is the olympic motto. did you know that? i didn't. swifter, higher, stronger. well, this workout fits the bill. it's a hard-core workout! it's mostly moves that we learned in the first routine, but this workout lasts WAY, WAY longer, adds speed and lots of repetition. jason and crystal (the people in the video with mitch gaylord) are in fantastic shape and they're all sweaty and out of breath. which means... we shouldn't feel bad for feeling like we're going to die midstream! whew!

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Melt It Off

the results of those initial 3 days can be so encouraging. weight loss and dropping sizes. way to start!

Monday, March 24, 2008

Wellness Affirmations

i've never thought of myself as the type who would go in for daily affirmations. but there are a bunch in the "melt it off" book that make you feel better just reading them. things like "this is not the hardest thing i've ever done" and "i can transform my body through eating right and exercising" and "even small changes in my life are big achievements." simple, but powerful.

3 Day Melt

my advice: read the pamphlets that come with the kit even if you're the type that hates to read directions. there's a grocery list to go with a menu plan. one for men. one for women. there are also places to journal your before, during and after measurements, etc. and there's a good section on stretches. i admit, when i first got my stuff in the mail, i just popped in the dvds and started in. you'll get more out of it if you use the whole program. even if you don't get to the whole little booklet right away, at least look at the 3 day melt it off kick start thingy.

Saturday, March 8, 2008

<2 Wks

by the way, did i tell you that the 3 day melt kit arrived in less than 2 weeks? i was pretty impressed by that. seems like these things can take way longer than that sometmes.

Words of the Day: Opioid Peptide

do you think these taquitos are going to get in the way of my fitness plan? i hope not. i was down and out for a few days, unwell and not exercising. but i'm feeling tip-top now (obviously, if i'm chowing on guacamole) and will be back to the workout room tomorrow. i should have started working out a few months ago, to fight those winter blues. it really helps, doesn't it? those endorphins are friendly little fellas. did you know that they're related to other magical components that are in things like gluten and cheese? me neither. nifty.

Squats-R-Us

ah yes, squats. you might feel like a nerd doing them at first, but let's face it: they work! or at least, theywork things that normally don't get worked. they're incorproated frequently in the 3 day melt program. what else is at play? the love handle region. what's that muscle group called? oh my word, wikipedia's got it all, even love handles which, it seems, are abdominal external obliques. my friend who's taking anatomy/physiology has got nothin on me! hey, this link tool is frickin easy and fun. what else can i link to? chocolate cupcakes? mmmmmmmm.

and... sore muscles feel like a dirty little secret, don't they? maybe i'll explore that in later post...

10 Minute Workout

have i mentioned what a fan i am of the 10 minute workout? i always got bored doing other exercise programs that lasted half hour to 90 minutes. this is perfect. ther'es never an excuse to not do it,because there's always room to squeeze in 10 minutes of something. gets my heart pumpin, too!

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Half Time

just got the perfect 10 workout. it's also called mitch's melt it off program. comes with a really tough/sturdy 2 lb. ball to use in the exercises. have to admit, i'm out of shape! i tried the exercises as i watched the dvd, and i've got a ways to go to whip my booty into shape enough to go s fast as they do. but i'll do it! it is mitch gaylord the olympic gymnast whose program it is, so sounds credible to me. i could only do each move about half as fast as the pros, but hey, if i didn't have 'room for advancement' i guess i wouldn't need mitch's help! here's the link to 3 day melt in case you want to check it out yourself.
